Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page. Here, we've compiled some of the most common questions we receive about our installation services.
Location
CPW Truck Stuff & Wheels is located at 7601 W. 191st Street in Tinley Park, IL. We're located in the back of the building, so please follow the signs to our parking lot and enter through the gate.
Lift Kit Installations
How much does it cost to install a lift kit? The cost for a 6-inch lift kit installation is generally around $5,000. However, the exact price can vary depending on the brand, your vehicle's make and model, and whether any OEM parts need to be replaced.
How long does it take to install a lift kit? On average, it takes about 8–10 hours to install a suspension lift kit. Older trucks (5+ years from the current model year) may take longer due to rusted bolts or worn parts that need replacement for proper ride quality and safety.
Can I install one lift kit on top of another? While it's technically possible in rare cases, it's generally not recommended. If you're upgrading to a bigger lift kit, it's best to remove the old kit before installing the new one.
Does installing a lift kit affect my factory warranty? No. Your factory warranty remains valid unless the manufacturer can prove the lift kit directly caused a specific defect. Our ASE-certified mechanics can service your vehicle just like a dealer.
Can I install a lift kit myself? It's possible, but not recommended—especially if this is your primary vehicle. Lift kit installations are complex and require specialized tools and expertise. For safety and best results, we recommend having a professional shop do the installation.
Tires and Wheels
What do I need to fit 33x12.5x20 MT tires on my truck? Typically, a leveling kit will be enough. If not, a lift and leveling kit combination will work.
Can I just put a leveling kit on my truck, or should I get a lift kit? Yes, you can install a leveling kit, which only lifts the front of your vehicle. A full lift kit raises both the front and rear.
What kind of lift or leveling kit gives the best street ride while allowing basic off-roading? A combination lift and leveling kit is usually the best option for comfort and versatility.
