Best SUV Tires For All Seasons Snow Rain

The Top 5 Best SUV Tires

There are two main factors to consider when determining when to change your SUV tires:

  • Tread depth: The tread depth is the measurement of the rubber that is still left on the tire. The legal minimum tread depth in the United States is 2/32 inches. However, it is recommended to replace your tires when the tread depth is down to 4/32 inches, especially if you live in an area with wet or snowy weather.
  • Tire age: Tires start to deteriorate over time, even if they don't show any signs of wear. The general rule of thumb is to replace your tires every 6-10 years.

In addition to these two factors, there are a few other signs that may indicate that it's time to change your SUV tires:

  • Uneven wear: If your tires are wearing unevenly, it's a sign that there is a problem with your alignment or suspension. This can cause the tires to wear out prematurely, so it's important to have them checked by a mechanic.
  • Punctures or sidewall damage: If your tires have been punctured or have sidewall damage, they should be replaced immediately. Even if the puncture can be repaired, the tire may not be as safe as a new one.
  • Cracks or bulges: If your tires have cracks or bulges, they should be replaced immediately. These are signs that the tire is deteriorating and could fail.

If you're not sure whether it's time to change your SUV tires, it's always best to have them inspected by a mechanic. They will be able to tell you how much tread is left on your tires and whether they are safe to continue using.

Here are some tips for extending the life of your SUV tires:

  • Keep your tires properly inflated. Underinflated tires wear out more quickly.
  • Avoid driving on sharp objects. Punctures can cause tires to fail.
  • Rotate your tires every 6,000-10,000 miles This helps to even out the wear and tear on the tires.
  • Store your tires properly when they are not in use Keep them in a cool, dry place.

By following these tips, you can help to extend the life of your SUV tires and keep them safe for driving.

  • Amazon Review: “The immediate thing I notice is the smooth, quiet ride and very nice steering.

500 MILE UPDATE: Still a lot of experience to go before rating all attributes of these tires.
Very good wet traction, seems like effortless, floating through rain. I have not tested yet in
heavy, sustained rain. Similar experience with dry traction. Compared to the factory original
"low rolling resistance" tires, these, inflated to standard 35psi, are a noticeable downgrade
in mpg- previous 28/39 down to 25/31, 4-5mpg less (combined). I have not tested at 38-40psi.

I really like the steering feel of these tires.... not too much, not to little, but right in the
middle between ease and precision. Feels good being a pro-active (but not aggressive)
driver going 35-45mph in town, and is beautiful on cruise control, 70mph on the freeway.

There seems to be no break-in period for these tires- they are smooth, quiet, and have nice
steering right out of the box. Reminds me of the Turanza Quiettrack ride; but even quieter.

    2500 mile update:
Gas mileage reduction more like 2/3mph rather than 4/5, still a noticeable reduction compared to the previous Ecopia tires, but not unacceptable.

I had one flat already. Is this a soft tire that easily picks up nails? Too early to say, but if they are, I will deduct at least 1/2 star for the big inconvenience.

The tires are fantastic in wet. Steady, smooth glide through heavy rain at normal speeds.

Slight tire noise, these are not quiet tires, but it is comfortable noise.
Excellent steering feel at normal speeds and in normal maneuvers.

No experience, really, in snow or ice.

The tires did not come with 10/32" tread depth- more like 9. It may not make any difference, we'll see.

I expect these to last 60,000 miles with 7,500 mile rotations. If not, I will deduct one full star.
If they last 67,500, I will be delighted.”
